Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Guardians of nature for the benefit of all

Description

Nestled between the foothills of Mount Kenya and the vast plains of Laikipia, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is one of East Africa’s most pioneering wildlife destinations, where immersive safari experiences meet impactful conservation. Spanning over 90,000 acres, the conservancy is renowned as the largest black rhino sanctuary in the region and the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, while also being home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth.

More than just a safari destination, Ol Pejeta operates a progressive model that integrates wildlife conservation, livestock ranching, and community development ensuring tourism directly supports both endangered species and surrounding communities.

Experiences & Services

  • Signature Wildlife Encounters - Ol Pejeta offers rare, close up wildlife experiences that go beyond traditional safaris. Visitors can meet the last remaining northern white rhinos, explore the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and engage with expert rangers who provide deep insight into conservation efforts
  • Game Drives & Safari Adventures - Guests can explore the conservancy through immersive all-day game drives or venture out after dark on night safaris, revealing a completely different side of the African wilderness. These drives offer exceptional opportunities to encounter the Big Five and a rich diversity of wildlife in their natural habitat.
  • Conservation-Based Activities - Ol Pejeta is distinguished by hands-on conservation experiences. Visitors can track lions alongside rangers, participate in rhino monitoring and identification, or join the K9 anti-poaching unit for a unique dog-tracking activity. Guided bush and bird walks provide an educational, on-foot perspective of the ecosystem
  • Unique & Interactive Experiences - Beyond traditional safaris, the conservancy offers distinctive experiences such as livestock-wildlife integration tours, behind-the-scenes access to chimpanzee care, and educational conservation talks.
